AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH PERSONNEL RULES
AND REGULATIONS BY DELETING TWO POSITION DESCRIPTIONS
AND ADDING TWO POSITION DESCRIPTIONS AT THE
KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH MENTAL HEALTH CENTER
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly, in keeping with the personnel
policy, recognizes that personnel rules and regulations must be amended
from time to time in order to provide for necessary personnel
adjustments; and
WHEREAS, due to the recent transfer of the Mental Health Center Developmental
Disabilities Program to Hope Cottages, the focus of the rehabilitation
program has changed; and
WHEREAS, the proposed two job descriptions replace the skills trainer and residential
trainer job descriptions and accurately reflect the new focus and duties
of the positions; and
WHEREAS, the following job descriptions were approved by the Personnel Advisory
Board on July 8, 1992 and were reviewed by the Mental Health Center
Advisory Board in their packet of July 13, 1992;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become
codified as part of the Kodiak Island Borough Personnel Rules and
Regulations.
Section 2: Position Descriptions is amended by deleting the skills trainer and
residential trainer position descriptions from the Kodiak Island Borough
Personnel Rules and Regulations.

substituted on a year- for -year basis for the required A.A. degree. Must meet criteria
for borough motor vehicle operator's insurance.
Specific Indicators - Minimum
Alaska driver's license.
Ability to monitor and shape client behavior relative to goals and objectives of
treatment plans.
Ability to document clearly and accurately all client contacts.
Ability to be flexible and to function well in a constantly changing environment.
Ability to respond constructively to supervisory personnel.
Ability to communicate clearly.

Job Summary: Assists in the maintenance of a safe, secure, normalized environment for
rehabilitation clients.

everyday activities including homemaking and work related
skills.
2. On -going 30 May perform filing and other basic clerical tasks.
3. On -going 5 Maintains current familiarity with each client's treatment plan.

5. On -going 5 Inspects all fire prevention equipment in rehabilitation facility
on a regularly scheduled basis; is responsible for maintaining
fire equipment in good operating condition.
