AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS BY
UPDATING VARIOUS POSITION DESCRIPTIONS AND SCHEDULE II
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly, in keeping with the personnel
policy, recognizes that personnel rules and regulations must be amended
from time to time in order to provide for necessary personnel
adjustments; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly adopted the Compensation Study
as a methodology that enables equitable distribution of salary ranges on
July 6, 1989; and
WHEREAS, the following amendments have been reviewed by the Personnel
Advisory Board at their regular meetings held on July 9, 1990,
November 29, 1990, April 16, 1991 and unanimously recommended for
approval by the Assembly;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH:
Section 1: This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and shall become
codified as part of the Kodiak Island Borough Personnel Rules and
Regulations.

The salary placement score methodology is hereby revised under the
number of people supervised to reflect scores of 1 -2 people, a value of
4; 3 -5 people, a value of 8; 6-8 people, a value of 12; 9 plus people, a
value of 16.
The increase in placement salary ranges described in Section 3 shall take
effect January 1, 1992.
Any decrease in placement salary ranges described in Section 3 shall
apply to employees hired after January 1, 1992 and henceforth,
therefore not reducing any currently employees' salary or placement on
the salary scale.
