1991-22 Relating to Penalties on Past Due Utility AccountsAN ORDINANCE RELATING TO PENALTIES ON PAST DUE UTILITY ACCOUNTS
WHEREAS, Section 13.01.155 of the Borough Code provides for late fees on past
due utility accounts; and
WHEREAS, other utilities have a late payment fee charge;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH:
Section 1: This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature and
shall become part of the Code of Ordinance.
Section 2: Section 13.01.155 of the Borough Code is hereby amended
as follows:
Section 13.01.155 Charges - -late payment fees. Bills not paid by the twentieth
(20th) day of the month (or first workday thereafter) shall be subject to a late
payment fee. This fee shall be calculated at one percent (1 %) per month of the
outstanding balance, [or] and a minimum fee [to be three dollars] of one dollar Der
service class (a bill with water, sewer. and aarbage would be three service classes}
for each month or portion thereof past due, whichever is greater.
