Many of the vot= rs of the Kodiak Island Borough have expressed a concern
with rising costs f government; and
Many of the voters • the Kodiak Island Borough have expressed a desire
to have a say in w -t services they receive and the costs for these
services; and
The Kodiak Island Borough embly is the governing body of the Borough,
and is in effect the legislatur= for the Borough and as such has the ultimate
responsibility for everything the Borough does, which includes levying taxes;
and
WHEREAS, At the present time, any new or inc =ase in existing taxes, except for sales
tax, is done by the Assembly enacti • ordinances.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE AS MBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH:
Section 1. Classificatiort. Section 3 of this ordinance i- of a general and permanent
