AN O DINANCE PLACING THE QUESTION OF
THE MANAGE PLAN ON THE REGULAR ELECTION BALLOT
WHEREAS, the manager plan as first adopted by the Kodiak Island Borough in 1977;
and
WHEREAS, it proved to be an effective form of government for eight years; and
WHEREAS, the question of retaining t
votes in 1984; and
WHEREAS, it has been seven years since tf• t vote and the public has had a chance
to observe the politics which 4.�e natural with the mayoral form of
government; and
WHEREAS, the voters of the Kodiak Island Borough hould now determine if it is in the
best interest of the Borough to adopt an ' implement a manager plan:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBbY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH:
Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska
This ordinance is of a special nature and shall no, be codified.
The following question shall be placed on the ballot of e October 4, 1988,
Regular Election:
"Shall the Kodiak Island Borough adopt a
manager plan, as provided in Alaska Statutes
29.20.460, whereby a hired manager shall be

Section 0. If approved by a majority of the qualified voters voting on the question, the
assembly shall adopt a manager plan within sixty (60) days (A.A.
29.20.480) and the mayor /manager form of government shall become
�fective upon certification of the Regular Election of October 6, 1992.
