AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 91 -08 FY92 BUDGET
(ACCEPTING GRANT FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA,
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION,
FOR WASTE CHARACTERIZATION STUDY

WHEREAS, the State of Alaska, Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC),
has awarded the Kodiak Island Borough (KIB) a grant to be applied
towards the development of a solid waste management cost analysis and
waste composition study; and
WHEREAS, the amount of the State grant is $19,306 for the purpose of a waste
characterization study; and
WHEREAS, the grant agreement is contingent upon the KIB matching funds in the
amount of $20,694, for a total project cost of 540,000, and the KIB
Assembly has affected the transfer of $20,694 from Solid Waste Fund
in Ordinance No. 91 -08G.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: This ordinance is not of general application and shall not be codified.

Line Item 430 - 000 - 334 -126, Fund Revenues, will be increased by
519, 306.
The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly accepts the grant funds in the total
amount of $19,306 and directs staff to complete the necessary forms
and accounting to manage such funds.
