1989-27 Related to Toxic SmokeAN ORDINANCE RELATING TO TOXIC SMOK
BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough - ssembly that:
Section 1. This ordinance is of a general and • nature
and shall become a part of the KIB Code of Ordinances.
Section 2. Title 8 is amended by adding a ew chapter to read:
Chapter 8.25
Toxic Smoke
Sections:
8.25.010 Toxic smoke.
8.25.020 Dense smoke.
8.25.010 Toxic smoke. When the
Conservation identifies a fire within a
district to be producing toxic smoke,
will respond to extinguish the fire upo
reimburse the fire service district for
8.25.020 Dense smoke. Th F e Chief for each fire service district has
the authority to determine when se smoke is a health or other hazard and
order the owner to extinguish the fire. If the owner cannot or will not
extinguish the fire, the Fire Chi may call out the service district fire
department to extinguish the fir The owner will then be billed for all costs
generated by the response. /
