ORDINANCE NO. 89 -19 -0
AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AMENDING
KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE CHAPTER 2.22, BOROUGH ENGINEER, AND
CHAPTER 2.34, FACILITIES DEPARTMENT
BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that:
Section 1. This ordinance is of a general and permanent nature
and shall eccomeaa part of the Code of Ordinances of the Kodiak Island
Borough.
Section 2. Chapter 2.22 is amended to read:

BOROUGH ENGINEERING AND FACILITIES DEPARTMENT
Sections:
2.22 Engineering and Facilities Director [APPOINTMENT AND
DUTIES]
2.22 Engineering and Facilities Director [APPOINTMENT AND DUTIES].
The mayor shall appoint an engineering and facilities director who shall
maintain records, administer design and inspection of vertical construction,
coordinate supervision and inspection of village construction, administer
grants at local and village levels and perform other duties as prescribed by
the mayor or by resolution of the assembly. The director shall also
[BOROUGH ENGINEER WHO SHALL] administer the borough subdivision
regulations, maintain engienering records and documents, adminsiter design
and inspection of all horizontal construction, provide administration and
operation for water and solid waste disposal, adminsiter local service roads
and trails program, and perform other duties as prescribed by the mayor and
by resolution of the assembly.
Section 3. Chpater 2.34 is repealed and reenacted to read:

2.34.010 Building Official. The mayor shall appoint, or obtain by
contract with the City of Kodiak, a building official to perform inspections,
enforce the provisions of the building codes, issue permits and maintain
accurate records.
