1988-17 Appropriating the Balance of Funds to be Received on the W.R. Grace Court SettlementWHEREAS, the Assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough has passed two
ordinances pertaining to the W. R. Grace asbestos settlement funds
(Ordinance No. 88 -02 -0 $156,083 and Ordinance No. 88 -09 -0 $800,000); and
WHEREAS, the anticipated net receipts from this settlement will be
approximately $1,282,000; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough staff and Assembly are desirous
of getting the Old Harbor School project bid under construction with the
least possible delay;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly that the unappropriated balance ($1,282,000 - $800,000 - $156,083 =
$325,917) of $325,917 is hereby appropriated for use in the Old Harbor
School construction.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that staff is authorized and directed to
effect the necessary line item changes within the limits established above
by department to properly monitor, account and report for the expenditures
of these funds.
All ordinances or parts of ordinances found to be in conflict with
I this ordinance are hereby explicitly rescinded.
