AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 15 OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE,
BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTION, ESTABLISHING A BUILDING NUMBERING SYSTEM AND
REQUIRING THE NUMBERING OF BUILDINGS.

Assembly hereby ordains that:
Numbering, is adopted as follows:
. The numbering of all buildings fronting
around the City of Kodiak shall conform
in this chapter.
1 5.26.020 Base or dividin lines established.
A. The base line for numbering all public streets running
northwest and southeast shall be a line running through the center
intersection of Center Avenue with Rezanof Drive West and through the center
of the intersection of Mill Bay Road with Rezanof Drive East.
B. The base line for numbering all public streets running generally
northeast and southwest shall be a line running through the center of the
intersection of Center Avenue with Rezanof Drive West at right angles to the
base for numbering all northwest and southeast streets.
15.26.030 Streets classified b

A. All public streets running generally northwest and southeast and
lying northwest of the base line shall be designated by the prefix "North,"
and all public streets running generally northwest and southeast and being
southeast of the base line shall be designated by the prefix "South."
B. All public streets running generally northeast and southwest and
lying northeast of the base line shall be designated by the prefix "East," and
all public streets running generally northeast and southwest and being south-
west of the base line shall be designated by the prefix "West."
15.26.040 Progression of numbers.
A. The first number of all streets shall be 100 and the numbers shall
progress at the rate of one thousand numbers for each 4,200 feet from the base
line.

15.26.050 Location of odd and even numbers.
A. Odd numbers shall be assigned to the left side of each public
street, proceeding away from the base line.
B. Where streets change general direction, numbering shall progress at

15.26.060 Duties of Borou h En sneer. It shall be the duty of the
Borough Engineer or his designee to establish and assign all building numbers
on the public streets within the Borough. He shall prepare the necessary
records of the numbers so assigned by him, and such records shall be evidence
of all building numbers so assigned. He shall, on demand, furnish to each
owner or occupant of a building, or such person as may be employed in number-
ing the buildings, with all necessary information relevant to the number
belonging to each building.

adoption.
