ORDINANCE NO. 84 -14 -0
AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AMENDING THE
PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATED TO EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly, in keeping with its
Personnel Policy, recognizes that Personnel Rules and Regulations must be
amended from time to time in order to provide current regulations, and
WHEREAS, the Personnel Advisory Board at their meeting on February 6,
1984 recommended that the Borough adopt a provision requiring employees to sign
an agreement to continue working for the Borough for a period of two years
after receiving special schooling, or to reimburse the Borough if terminated
sooner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
that the Kodiak Island Borough Personnel Rules and Regulations adopted
November 8, 1977 are amended to read as follows:
Section 1: Section 803 Reimbursement For Special Training. Any employee
terminating employment prior to working one year after completion of an
approved special training program (defined as any training for which the
Borough pays $1,000.00 or more including cost of the training program plus
travel), unless terminated for just cause, will be subject to forfeiture of
accumulated leave and /or salary on a pro -rated basis in the amount equal
to the cost of the training program plus travel.
Section 2: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage and
approval by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.
