1983-71 Revising Portion of Title 17 of Borough Code on ZoningAN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY REVISING
PORTIONS OF TITLE 17 OF BOROUGH CODE ON ZONING.
The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly Hereby Ordains:
Section 1. That Chapter 17.39 of Borough Code on Building Height
is repealed and reenacted in its entirety to read as follows:

17.39.010 Height Limitations.
17.39.010 Height Limitations. The height limitations contained in
this title do not apply to spires, belfries, cupolas, chimneys, antennas,
water tanks, ventilators, elevator housing, or other similar- structures
placed above the.roof level which are required for the operation and main-
tenance of a building.
Section 2. That Chapter 17.42 of Borough Code on Lots and Lot
Areas is repeaiee in its entirety.
Section 3. That Section 17.45.010 of Borough Code on Projections
Into Yards is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:

17.40.010 Projections Into Re uired Yards. Where yards are required,

sions in any part, and they shall be at every point open and unobstructed

A. Outside stairways, fire escapes, porches, decks, or landing places,
if unroofed and unenclosed, may extend into a required side yard for a
distance not to exceed four feet or into a required rear yard for a distance
not to exceed twelve feet, but never more than one -half the distance of any
required yard;
B. Cornices, canopies, eaves or other similar architectural features
not providing additional floor space within a building may extend into a
required yard not to exceed two feet.
Section 4. That Section 17.45.020 of Borough Code entitled
• ji "Corner Lot in R district -- obstructions to vision" is repealed in its
entirety.
Section 5. That Section 17.45.040 of Borough Code entitled
"Setback rom a3or Streets and Highways" is repealed and reenacted to read
as follows:
