AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY AMENDING TITLE 17
OF BOROUGH CODE - -BY REVISING CHAPTER 17.15 -- CONSERVATION ZONES.
The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly hereby ordains that:
SECTION 1: Chapter 17.15, Conservation Zones, is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2: Chapter 17.13, Conservation District, is hereby created to read as:

17.13.010 Description and intent. The Conservation District is
established for the purpose of maintaining open space areas while providing for
large lot single family residential and agricultural land uses. For the
Conservation District, in promoting the general purposes of this Title, the
specific intentions of this chapter are:
A. To encourage the use of land for large lot single family
residential and agricultural purposes;
R. To encourage the continued use of land for open space areas; and
C. To encourage the discontinuance of existing uses that are not
permitted under the provisions of this Chapter.
17.13.020 Permitted Uses. The following land uses and activities are
permitted in the Conservation District:
A. Accessory Buildings;
B. Agricultural Activities;
C. Churches;
D. Fishing Activities;
E. Forestry Activities;
F. Horticulture Activities;
G. Hunting Activities;
H. Parks;
I. Public Facilities;
J. Recreational Activities; and
K. Single Family Dwellings.
17.13.030 Conditional Uses. The following land uses and activities
may be allowed by obtaining a conditional use permit in accordance with the
provisions of Chapter 17.67:
A. Airports;
B. Petroleum Exploration and Development;
C. Radio and Television Transmitters;.
D. Resource Extraction Activities;
E. Sanitariums; and
F. Solid Waste Disposal Sites.
