ORDINANCE NO. 82 -19 -0
AN ORDINANCE CREATING A FIVE - MEMBER ELECTED BOARD FOR
FIRE PROTECTION AREA NUMBER ONE.
WHEREAS, Fire Protection Area Number One was established
by Ordinance 68 -23 -0 and,
WHEREAS, under A.S. 29.63.090(c) the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly may provide for appointed or elected board to
supervise the furnishing of those special services, approved by
the voters within this service area, and,
'WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly recognizes
the need for a temporary appointed board until the next regular
election.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly that:
ATTEST:
Section 1. An elected board of five residents,
who are qualified voters of Fire Protection Area
Number One, is established for the purpose of
supervising the furnishing of special services
within the Area, pursuant to A.S. 29.63.090(c).
Section 2. Terms of office will be staggered
three -year terms, commencing on the day following
the ratification of their election.
Section 3. The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
shall temporarily appoint five resident members
of Fire Protection Area Number One to serve on
said board until the next General Election.
