ORDINANCE NO. 80 -47 -0
AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY ADOPTING
NAMES AND RE- NAMING CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission
has studied the names of streets and roads within the community for
sometime; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has solicited comments
from the public by way of public hearing, posting of a map for public viewing,
and newspaper advertisements; and
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has found that there
are streets within the community with duplicate names and similar sounding
names which create confusion, and others that appear to have never been
named; and
WHEREAS, the Commission has re Ommended name changes to avoid
duplication and names to identify pre65usly unnamed streets; and
WHEREAS, this action will assist all citizens of the community in
providing identification for all roads within the community; and
WHEREAS, this action will assist fire, police, and ambulance
personnel in their efforts respond to emergencies, thereby better protecting
the public health and general welfare.
BE IT ORDAIIIED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that the
Kodiak Island Bornue `adopt the changes herein indicated based upon the
street names shown, on the Official Zoning Map of the Kodiak urban area
adopted August 1,1, 1976, by Resolution No. 76 -42 -R, and on recorded plats:
Section 1. The following existing streets are hereby defined as extending

from point to point, as indicated below:

A. REZANOFF DRIVE extends from the main entrance to the Coast Guard
Base (on the "Base -Town Road ") to the entrance of Abercrombie
State Park between Blocks 1 and 2 of Miller Point Alaska Subdivision.
B. SHELIKOF STREET extends from Marine Way on the East to Pier 2,
"City Dock" on the West.

C, MILL BAY ROAD extends from the intersection of Center Street,
Rezanoff Drive, and South Benson Avenue on the West to its
terminus at the Easterly boundary of U. S. Survey 3218.
D. THORSHEIM STREET extends from its intersection with South Benson
Avenue (Mill Bay Road), continuing along the road currently
named North Boulevard to its end at Poplar Street.
E. HILLSIDE DRIVE extends from its Westerly terminus at Lot 8,
Block 14, Aleutian Homes Inc. Subdivision through and along an
unnamed street within the Kodiak Housing Authority tract to
its intersection with Pillar Mountain Drive.
F. WEST KOUSKOF STREET extends from the Easterly boundary of U. S.
Survey 2910AB Easterly along the Northerly boundary of Lots 29
through 34, Oceanview Subdivision, to the corner common to
Lots 1 and 26, Block 7, Leite Addition; thence Northerly along
the Westerly boundary of Lot 1, Block 7, to the NW corner of
Lot 1, Block 7, Leite Addition, which is the Southerly right -of -way
of Father Herman Street.
G. EAST KOUSKOF STREET extends from the SW corner of Lot 20, Block 5,
Leite Addition, Easterly between Blocks 5 and 6, Leite Addition
on the North, and Blocks 7 and 8, Leite Addition on the South, to
its intersection with Mission Road between Lot 10, Block 6,
and Lot 12, Block 8, Leite Addition.
H. ISMAILOV STREET extends from its intersection with Mission Road
on the West, at Lot 1, Block 35, East Addition, to Potatopatch
Lake South of Lot 1, Block 51, East Addition; and thence in a
Northerly direction to its intersection with Rezanoff Drive
at Lot 11, Block 55, East Addition.
I. CHICHENOF STREET extends from 12th Avenue (18TH AVENUE) to the
Westerly boundary of U. S. Survey 1822 along the Northerly boundary
of Block 57, East Addition.
J. JACKSON LANE extends from Mission Road to the common boundary of
U. S. Survey 3099 and U. S. Survey 3233 between Lots 24A, 24B,

K. YANOFSKY STREET extends from the Easterly boundary of Lots 9

Q. WOLKOFF LANE extends from Mission Road to the Easterly boundary
of Lot 3, Paul's Subdivision, bounded by Lots 1A, 2A, and 3A,

North, and Lots 1B, 2B, and 3B, Tolbert Subdivision and Lots 6
