Earlier this year I received notification that a hearing was to
be held concerning the rezoning of lots 4 3 -53. block 12. I submitted
a letter at that time stating my objections and I still am against this.
zoning change for the .same reasons.
I would like to reiterate my main objection, which is: This is
probably the most dense residential area it the city and we have enough
noise and traffic from the State highway without the additional traffic
and noise a business district would generate. Also there is the additional
hazard to the many school children that pass thru is area daily.
I realize laws are made to be changed. i-rowev'', the changes should
benefit everyone and not just an indiviival or ind' :duals who stand to
turn a nice little profi t at the experse of the who'P town. I have 'seen
ton any of our zoning laws being: abused over the t few years and I
feel It is time a stop is put to this ^racti ^_e. _ :an only hope that
we don't have to go thru this every few months until these individuals
'et what they r:2.. ^.t. T -i h the oug A- - .-`l•, sees

Re: The Kevin Arndt request for rezoning of Lots 43 -53, Block 12
of the Aleutian Homes Subdivision from residential to business.
The Kodiak Island Borough School Board and administration
appreciate the Assembly's referral to the School District prior to
final action. The question was considered by the School Board on the
Work Session of September 16, 1980. Mr. Arndt was in attendance to
answer any questions.
It is the School Board's understanding that a convenant will be
attached to the deed and with that, or a similar stipulation, no objections
to this request for rezoning were expressed by members of the School Board
or administration.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
>
