AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH, AMENDING THE CLASS TITLE
AND PAY RANGE TABLE AND SECTIONS 411.3, OVERTIME WORKED BY DEPARTMENT HEADS,
AND 609, TEMPORARY APPOINTMENTS OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH PERSONNEL RULES
AND REGULATIONS.
WHEREAS, the Borough Assembly, in keeping with its personnel policy
1 recognizes the Personnel Rules and Regulations must be amended from time to
time in order to keep the Personnel Rules and Regulations current and consist-
ent with sound administrative practices.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly,

Section,1. The class title and pay range listings found on Page F are
hereby amended by addition of the following new class title and
pay range classifications:
CLASS TITLE PAY RANGE
Finance Officer 22.5 A
Borough Clerk 21.5 A
Planner IV 21.5 A
Planner V 22.5 A
Section 2. The job description contained within pages G -1 through Y -2
are hereby amended to include the following job descriptions:
JOB TITLE PAGE NUMBERS
Finance Officer Z- 1 through Z -3
Borough Clerk AA -1 through AA -2
Planner IV BB -1 through BB -3
Planner V CC -1 through CC -3
Section 3. Section 411.3 Overtime Worked by Department Heads (page 23)
is hereby amended to read as follows:
Department heads may accrue up to eighteen (18) hours per quarter
of compensatory or straight time pay when approved by the Borough
Manager for hours worked in excess of normal job responsibilities.
The accrued hours must be used before the end of the Borough fiscal
year or he /she loses them.

Section 4. Section 609 Temporary Appointments (page 35) is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Temporary appointments are for short term periods, not to exceed
six (6) months. A person hired for a temporary appointment, or
hired temporarily to replace absent employees, shall not be
entitled to any fringe benefits. If a temporary employee sub-
sequently is appointed as a permanent employee, time served as a
temporary employee shall be counted toward the employee's three-
