AN ORDINANCE CREATING A SEVEN - MEMBER ELECTED BOARD FOR SERVICE
p1STRICT ONE OF THE MILL BAY - MONASHKA SERVICE AREA.
WHEREAS, at a Special Election held on April 18, 1978 the voters
o f the said Service District One approved that Kodiak Island Borough shall
exercise its sewer, water and road service powers; and,
WHEREAS, under A.S. 29.63.090(c) the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly may provide for appointed or elected board to supervise the furnishing
of those special services, approved by the voters within Service District One;
and,
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly recognizes the need
for a temporary appointed board until the next regular election.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
Section 1. An elected board of seven residents, who are
qualified voters of Service District One of the Mill Bay -
Monashka Service Area, is established for the purpose of
supervising the furnishing of special services within the
District, pursuant to A.S. 29.63.090(c).
Section 2. Terms of office will be staggered three -year terms,
commencing on the day following the ratification of their
election.
Section 3. The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly shall temporarily
appoint seven resident members of Service District One to serve
on said board until the next General Election.
