1978-32 Amending the K.I.B. Zoning Ordinance Allowing Residential Dormitories as an Additional Use of a Seafoods Processing CanneryAN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ZONING ORDINANCE OWING RESIDENTIAL DORMITORIES AS AN ADDITIONAL USE TO A SEAFOODS PROCESSING CANNE BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that: Section 17.24.010 is hereby deleted in its entirety and re- enacted to read as follows: 17.24.010 USES PERMITTED. Any legal heavy commercial or Industrial use except those uses allowed in any residential or business zoning use district and any use not specifically prohibited in Section 17.24.020. 17.24.020 "A ". All residential uses, except: 1. A dwelling unit for a watchman, or a caretaker employed on the premises, or the owner- operator and members of his family. 2. A dormitory for employees working in a seafood processing cannery. 3. And, provided further, that the dwelling unit or dormitory is incorporated within a principal structure on the site and is clearly incidental and accessory to the principal industrial use of the property. 4. Dormitories will only be allowed in accordance with the provisions of Section 17.30.060 of this code. Section 17.30.060 is hereby amended by adding a new subsection "S" which will read as follows: "S ". Dormitories. As an accessory use to seafood processing canneries. Be and the same are hereby amended and that notice of the ord- inance be given by publication in the Kodiak Mirror, seven (7) days prior to the second reading and that a public hearing be held thereon on the date of the second reading and that this ordinance become effective at the time of adoption.
