HE CODE OF ORDINANCES BY ESTABLISHING A ISHING A
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly has found it
lecessary to amend Title 17.06 of the Borough Code of Ordinances
by addition of a definition for a foster home.
THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY HEREBY ORDAINS that,
Section 1. That Section 17.06 of the Kodiak Island Borough
Code of Ordinances is hereby amended by the
addition of an additional Subsection 17.06.255
setting forth a definition for foster homes as
follows:
17.06.255 FOSTER HOME: A foster home is
a residence licensed by the State of Alaska
where a home for one or more children may be
provided. The only difference between a
foster home family and a family as defined
in Section 17.06.230, is that there may be
more than five persons residing within a
dwelling unit not related by blood or mar-
riage. A foster home may only be permitted
in any residential zoning district after
first obtaining written authorization from
the Borough Planning and Zoning Commission.
