AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE EXISTING APPORTIONMENT OF
PLANNING COMMISSION MEMBERS
BE IT ORDAINED By the Assembly of the Kodiak Island
Borough as follows:
Section 1. Section 2.24.010 of the Kodiak Island
Borough Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.24.010 Created - Membership. There is created pursuant
to A. S. 29.33.080 a borough planning commission, which shall conf.
sist of seven members appointed by the borough mayor subject to
confirmation by the borough assembly. Commission membership shalll
be apportioned so that the number of members from first class
cities within the borough reflects the proportion of borough
population residing within those cities. Commission membership
shall be reapportioned according to the fluctuation of population
within the borough and its first class cities by resolution of the
borough assembly at the expiration of the terms of commission
members. The members shall serve without pay. Nothing in this
section prevents the borough mayor from appointing additional
persons to serve in an advisory or ex- officio capacity without
regard to apportionment of borough population.
