1977-21 Providing for Designated School Board SeatsTHIS IS AN ORDINANCE OF THE ASSEMBLY OF KODIAK ISLAND
(BOROUGH PROVIDING FOR DESIGNATED SCHOOL BOARD SEATS.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Assembly of the Kodiak Island
Borough, State of Alaska, that the following Ordinance be hereby
enacted as set forth below:
SECTION 1.
2.04.205 School Board Seats and Term. (a) The
Borough School Board shall be elected at large.
Each School Board seat shall be designated as a
separate seat and identified as such by a conse-
cutive letter of the alphabet beginning with the
letter "A ". A candidate for a School Board seat
must declare the single seat for which he seeks
election in a properly submitted nomination peti-
tion. After timely submission of an acceptable
nomination petition a candidate may change the
seat as designated therein.
(b) The term of office of a member of the School
Board is three years and until a successor takes
office.
