ORDINANCE NUMBER 77 -5 -0
AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
REZONING THE EASTERLY PORTION OF UNSUBDIVIDED PORTION OF USS 1682
TO BE DESIGNATED R -2 (L. L. Russell) .
WHEREAS, Alaska Statutes 29.33.090 empowers the Borough to enact
a Zoning Ordinance and provide for its administration, enforcement and amend-
ments, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has pursuant thereto adopted
Title . 17, of its Code of Ordinances and Resolutions which provides for planninc
and zoning provisions and procedures, and
WHEREAS, according to the Comprehensive Planning and Zoning Map
adopted by the Kodiak Island Borough, the Easterly Portion of Unsubdivided
Portion of USS 1682, has been zoned Conservation, and
WHEREAS, a petition has been received from L. L. Russell request-
ing that same be rezoned from Conservation to R -2 to allow for future develop-
ment,
WHEREAS, the Petition was considered and approved by the Planning
and Zoning Commission on April 20, 1977, and said body has recommended the
reclassification of said property from Conservation to R -2.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough Assembly of
the Kodiak Island Borough that the property described as:
Easterly Portion of Unsubdivided Portion of USS 1682
Be and the same are hereby reclassified as R -2 and that notice of the
ordinance be given by publication in the KODIAK MIRROR, seven (7) days
prior to the second reading and that a public hearing be held thereon on the
date of the second reading and that this ordinance become effective at the time
of adoption.

REZONING THE UNZONED PORTION OF U.S.S. 1682 TO BE ZONED R -3 WITH
R -1 BUFFER ZONES (L. L. Russell)
WHEREAS, Alaska Statutes 29.33.090 empowers the Borough
to enact a Zoning Ordinance and provide for its administration,
enforcement and amendments, and,
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has pursuant thereto
adopted Title 17 of its Code of Ordinancet and Resolutions which
provides for Planning and Zoning provisions and procedures, and,
WHEREAS, according to the Comprehensive Planning and
Zoning Map adopted by the Kodiak Island Borough a portion of U. S.
Survey 1682 has been unzoned, and,
WHEREAS, a petition has been received from L. L. Russell
for zoning to R -3 with R -1 buffer zones, and,
WHEREAS, the petition was considered and approved by the
Planning and Zoning Commission on February 16, 1977 and said body
has recommended the reclassification of said unzoned property,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough Assembly
of the Kodiak Island Borough that the unzoned portion of U. S.
Survey 1682 be zoned R -3 with R -1 buffer zones and that notice of
this ordinance be given publication to the Kodiak Mirror seven (7)
days prior /to the second reading, and that a public hearing be
held thereon on the date of the second reading, and that this
ordinance become effective at the time of adoption.
