1971-12 Rezoning Killarney Hills to R-3_J KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ORDINANCE NUMBER 71 -12- 0 AN ORDINANCE REZONING LOTS ONE (1) THROUGH EIGHT (8), BLOCK ONE (1), KILLARNEY HILLS FROM R2 TO R3 WHEREAS, AS 07.15.340 empowers the Borough to enact Zoning Ordinances and provide for their administration, enforcement and amendment, and WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has pursuant thereto adopted Chapter 5 of its Code of Ordinances and Resolutions, which provides for Planning and Zoning Provisions and Procedures, and iWHEREAS, according to the comprehensive Planning I I' and Zoning Map adopted by the Kodiak Island Borough, Lots One (1) through Eight (8), Block One (1), Killarney Hills, (, ihas been classified as R2, and WHEREAS, a Petition has been received from � DONALD ARNDT, stating that he is negotiating for the p urchase of these lots from the Catholic Archdiocese of Anchorage and the purchase hinges on these lots being rezoned from R2 to R3, and in the Petition the Petitioner states that this area lends itself much better to multiple dwelling types II rather than duplexes, as the lots are in various sizes from II 9,750 square feet to 2 -1/2 acres and are served by sewer 1! and water, and it WHEREAS, on the 24th day of August, 1971, the t and Zoning Commission held a Kodiak Island Borough Planning on said request, after which they recommended public hearing q the reclassification of this property from R2 to R3 and there were no objections voiced at the public hearing to reclassification, and it having been determined that the ilI 1 i �{ Page One, ORDINANCE NO. 71 -12 -0 i is public necessity, convenience and good zoning practice requires such reclassification. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough Assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough that the property known and described as Lots One (1) through Eight (8), Block One (1), Killarney Hills, now classified as R2, be and the same is hereby reclassified as R3, and that notice of this Ordinance be given by publication in the Kodiak Mirror seven (7) days prior to the second reading and that a public hearing be held thereon on the date of the second reading and that this Ordinance become effective at the expiration of thirty (30) days after its adoption.
