i AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH,
KODIAK, ALASKA, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 70 -5 -0 BY ADDING
A WORKING CAPITAL RESERVE ACCOUNT TO THE EXPENDITURES
AND AN APPROPRIATED SURPLUS ACCOUNT TO REVENUES AND
CHANGING THE REVENUE SHARING ACCOUNT NO. 502 AND REPEALING
AND RE- ENACTING SECTION 2 PERTAINING TO THE FIRE SERVICE
DISTRICT.
I
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly on
June 25, 1970, passed and approved Ordinance No. 70 -5 -0,
which was the Budget Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, it now appears that certain amendments

should be changed and there was an error in the computation
i
of the millage rate for the Fire District in that the millage
rate for the Fire District was not separate and distinct
from the millage rate for the rest of the Borough,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough
Assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough as follows:
Section 1. To the General Government Operating
Account No. 509 there is added 509.76 Working Capital

Reserve in the amount of ONE HUNDRED ELEVEN THOUSAND NINE
HUNDRED FORTY -SIX and No /100ths ($111,946.00) DOLLARS,
changing the total of the General Government Operating
Account No. 509 from SIXTY -FIVE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED and
No /100ths ($65,300.00) DOLLARS to ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY -SEVEN
t THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FORTY -SIX and No /,100ths ($177,246.00)

DOLLARS, and changing the total expenses on Page Two from
FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY -FIVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY -SEVEN
and No /100ths ($485,337.00) DOLLARS to FIVE HUNDRED NINETY-
SEVEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY -THREE and No /100ths
($597,173.00) DOLLARS.
Section 2. Under the Summary of Estimated
Revenues there is added Account No. 250, appropriated

Surplus in the amount of ONE HUNDRED TWENTY -ONE THOUSAND
and No /100ths ($121,000.00) DOLLARS and Account No. 305
Revenue Sharing is changed from TWENTY -TWO THOUSAND TWO
HUNDRED SIXTY -FOUR and No /100ths ($22,264.00) DOLLARS to
THIRTEEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TEN and No /100ths ($13,210.00)
DOLLARS and the total revenues are therefore changed from
FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY -FIVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWENTY - SEVEN
and No /100ths ($485,227) DOLLARS to FIVE HUNDRED NINETY -
SEVEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY -THREE and No /100ths
($597,173.00) DOLLARS.
section 3. Under the Fire Service District
Account there is added Account No. 305 FD, Revenue Sharing
in the amount of EIGHT THOUSAND and No /100ths ($8,000.00)
DOLLARS for a Total Revenue of TWENTY -ONE THOUSAND TWO
HUNDRED TWO and No /100ths ($21,202.00) DOLLARS and the
figures under Expenditures for Contractual Services are
changed from THIRTEEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWO and No /100ths
- ($13,202.00) DOLLARS to TWENTY -ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED TWO
and No /100ths ($21,202.00) DOLLARS.
Section 4. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 70 -5 -0
is hereby repealed and re- enacted to read as follows:
"Section 2. - Tax Levy:
A. A tax for the above sums of money, or as much
thereof as may be authorized by law, in the form of a mill
levy amounting to five (5) mills on all taxable property
within the Borough, to defray all expenses and liabilities of
the Borough, except Fire District services, be and the same
is hereby levied for the purposes as specified against all
taxable property in the Borough for the Calendar year 1970,
to be used for the Operating Budget of the Kodiak Island
Borough for the Fiscal year commencing on the 1st day of
July, 1970, and ending on the 30th day of June, 1971.
B. A tax for the amount specified for Fire
District services, or so much thereof as may be authorized
by law, in the form of a mill levy amounting to two (2) mills
on all taxable property within the Borough Fire District
boundaries, to defray the expenses and liabilities of said
Fire District, is hereby levied for the purposes of the Fire
District against all taxable property in the Borough Fire

District for the Calendar year 1970, to be used for the
purposes as specified in the Budget for the Fiscal year
of the Kodiak Island Borough commencing on the 1st day of
July, 1970, and ending on the 30th day of June, 1971.
C. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval as required
by law."
