DO Engineer's (DCI) understanding of the project is based on information provided by the client on 9/1/21. Gravity calculations appear to have been performed for code -required 125 psf live loading. Lateral calculations for seismic resistance will also be required for the load - rating. Scope of Serviges: DO will perform or check calculations for the existing wood structure to confirm the existing mezzanine structure can safely support 125 psf light storage mezzanine loading. These calculations will include both the gravity and the lateral load paths. The IBC requires that a lateral analysis for seismic loading be performed including a portion of the storage loading as a seismic mass. DO will provide a deliverable in the form of a sealed letter to the authority having jurisdiction. If the analysis indicates that additional structure or retrofits are required, DO will provide information in the form of redlines or sketches on the drawings provided by the client.
