9 A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH AUTHORIZING
10 THE BOROUGH MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT FOR
11 PARTICIPATION IN THE ALASKA COMMUNITY HEALTH FUNDS PROGRAM

13 WHEREAS, The State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Division of Public
14 Health is providing funding to Alaskan local governments through the Community Health Funds
15 Program; and
16
17 WHEREAS, this funding is to help with the following activities:
18 • Improve efforts and increase access to COVID testing in the community;
19 • Build capacity to increase access to COVID vaccine in the community;
20 • Implement strategies that decrease health inequities; and
21
22 WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is eligible for up to $668,946.72 less funds claimed by
23 other municipalities in the borough; and
24
25 WHEREAS, Kodiak Island Borough staff have coordinated with healthcare agencies in the
26 community to provide activities eligible for this funding.

28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
29 BOROUGH that:

31 the Borough Manager is authorized to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the State of
32 Alaska Department of Health and Social Services Division of Public Health for participation in the
33 Alaska Community Health Funds Program.
