ADJOURNMENT Page 1 of 1 Tara Welinsky From: Melanie Justice <melaniejean5@icloud.com> Sent: Thursday, April 30, 2020 10:55 AM To: Clerks Subject: Reopening Kodiak I believe I speak for a growing number of citizens who believe continuing the strict restraints imposed because of the virus would be detrimental to our community. We have had no confirmed cases of Covid19, and as a whole have followed the guidelines, but to continue them indefinitely would endanger the immune systems of the people who are strictly adhering to the rules. Churches and businesses need to open without the disinfecting rules, the masks and the distancing. People need to know they have the freedom to relax the strict rules, if they choose. Of course, if they are still afraid, they can voluntarily continue to comply. But the rest of us would like to have the go ahead to move on with our lives in a normal way. As community leaders, I appeal to you to take the lead in relaxing the requirements. The Governor has said he is leaving these decisions to the local communities. Thanks for hearing me out.
