RESOLUTION NO. FY2021-08
A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ACCEPTING AN
ALASKA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY (DPS) GRANT FOR THE WOMENS BAY
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Resolution No. FY2021-08 authorizes the acceptance of a $1,500 grant on the
behalf of the Womens Bay Volunteer Fire Department to assist in the purchase of Coronavirus
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Decontamination Supplies; and
WHEREAS, an application was submitted to the DPS program to purchase this PPE and
Decontamination Supplies in the amount of $1,500 with no matching funds required; and
WHEREAS, a grant in the amount of $1,500 has been awarded to the Womens Bay Volunteer
Fire Department and has funds to cover any costs above the awarded amount; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of the grant award will result in the Womens Bay Volunteer Fire
Department being better prepared to provide protection for both volunteers and area residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT the Borough Manager is hereby authorized to accept the Alaska Department
of Public Safety Grant funds in the amount of $1,500 and to administer those funds for the
purchase of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Decontamination Supplies for use at the
Womens Bay Volunteer Fire Department.
