Susan�Harmon president of PTA ;Main Elementary School: Pointed out that the 11 s are used as a thoroughfare and that main has substandard liphtino. Is in favor of the ordinance and a new buildirnj. Louise Collins, president of the school board: Is in favor of the ordinance as now url�ten, listing the projects, and urries passage. Lou Schneider, resident: Is not in favor of placing all the items into one lump sum. Feels the voters should have the option of voting on each item separately. Is is favor of tha junior lain;t school should be renovated by adding a second story; not in favor of the visual arts; maintenance shop and storage space should be completed revamped; acid the Akhiok school should have priority. Suggests junior high remodeling could be done in two summers thereby avoiding disruption of the school year. Ron Chase: Agrees with ir. Schneider. Sta ted tiie PE facility, lunch facilities and the play ground are inadequate. Feels the elementary children should be separated from the junior high and A gh school students. Bill 'Iilliams: 1. Feels the bond issue s;iould be in the exact amount of the figure needed. 2. Should knot: exactly how i;;ucii the borough will have to pay. 3. 'Wants to know exactly how ;.tuck the mill rate would be increased and if the new building would require .ore employees. 11. Collins pointed out that although the state is presently picking up 76% of the bond indebtedness, it could be less or it could be 100". It has never been less than 50". Tom Logan, private citizen: Feels the borough indebtedness should be presente in dollars, not .gills.
