A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH MANDATING
ELECTRONIC -ONLY DISTRIBUTION OF NON -PRIVILEGED MEETING MATERIALS AND
COMMUNICATIONS
WHEREAS, In 2011 the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly decided to stop using hard -copy
paper packets and instead use iPads for electronic distribution of meeting materials
communications to Assembly members; and
WHEREAS, Each Assembly member is provided an iPad to carry out Assembly work; and
WHEREAS, Borough meeting materials and communications have been posted online for
public review and pushed out to Assembly members' iPads since 2011; and
WHEREAS, Utilizing electronic distribution of meeting materials for all Assembly members
ensures consistent and timely distribution and saves time and money for the Borough; and
WHEREAS, Requiring the Clerk's office to make paper copies of meeting materials and
communications created unnecessary work and undermines advantages of electronic distribution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT distribution of non -privileged meeting materials and communications be
through electronic -only transmission.
