KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
RESOLUTION NO. FY2021-07
A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH SPENDING
PLAN FOR CARES FUNDING.
WHEREAS, CARES funding was approved by the federal government to assist states and local
jurisdictions with dealing with the COVID19 pandemic and;
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has prepared a process that the Kodiak Island Borough has
engaged to receive and use CARES ACT funds in accordance with federal law and policy
guidance by the Department of Treasury; and
WHEREAS, the use of funds by the Borough is restricted to COVID19 expenses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT
CARES funds will be allocated in the following manner:
Borough Physical Improvements To Building, Staff Time, Leave Time, Elections, PPE, and
Related Supplies, Reserve $1.2M;
Non -profits: Losses Of Income, Physical Improvements, Materials Related To Their Mission, PPE,
and Related Supplies, $500,000;
School District: Physical Improvement: Barriers, Custodial Staffing, PPE Supplies, Distance
Learning, and Loss Of Revenue, $1.57M;
Kodiak Economic Development Corporation: Business Grant Program (COVID19 Impacts and
Loss Of Revenue), $1.OM;
