Assembly Subcommittee Meeting
(Negotiation with the Manager)
December 26, 2018
A special meeting of the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly was held on December 26,
2018, in the Borough Conference Room of the Kodiak Island Borough Building, 710 Mill
Bay Road. The meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m.
Present were Mayor Dan Rohrer and Assembly members Rebecca Skinner. Also
present were Borough Manager Michael Powers, and Borough Clerk Nova Javier.
CITIZENS COMMENTS
None.
CONSIDERATION OF MATTERS IN THE CALL FOR THE SPECIAL MEETING
1. Negotiation of Terms of the Employment Contract of the Borough Manager.
SKINNER moved to recess into executive session to negotiate terms of the employment
contract with the Manager, the executive session is appropriate under KIBC
2.30.030(F)(1)(c) and (g) as matters discussed are pertaining to personnel and discussion
in open session may tend to prejudice the reputation or character of the manager
ROLL CALL VOTE ON MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY: Skinner and Rohrer
(AYES).
After discussion, the chair reconvened the open session and announced that they met in
executive session and discussed the terms of the employment contract with the Manager
and will report to the Assembly at the next meeting to continue the negotiation process.
ADJOURNMENT
SKINNER moved to adjourn.
VOICE VOTE ON MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:00 a.m.
