RESOLUTION NO. FY2019-10
A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ACCEPTING AN
ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG) FOR THE BAYSIDE FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Resolution No. FY2018-15 authorized the submission of an application to the
Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program on behalf of the Bayside Fire Department to assist
with the purchase and installation of an exhaust extraction system; and
WHEREAS, an application was submitted to the AFG program for the purchase and installation
of an exhaust extraction system at an estimated cost of $99,895 less a 5% local funding match;
and
WHEREAS, a grant in the amount of $87,039.00 has been awarded to the Bayside Fire
Department and the Bayside Fire Department has funds available to fulfill the match requirement
and additional funds needed to complete the project; and
WHEREAS, acceptance of the grant award is necessary in order to utilize the funds to pay for
the purchase and installation of an exhaust extraction system as described in the grant
application; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH that the Borough Manager is hereby authorized to accept the Assistance to Firefighter
Grant funds in the amount of $87,039.00 and to administer those funds for the purchase and
installation of an exhaust extraction system at the Bayside Fire Station.
