RESOLUTION NO. FY2018-26
A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH AMENDING THE
KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE AND CENTRAL FILING
SYSTEM TO REFLECT AMENDMENTS AND ADDITIONS TO VARIOUS RECORDS SERIES
WHEREAS, Kodiak Island Borough Code 2.40.120 provides for a records management
program creation and administration; and
WHEREAS, staff determined the need to revise the current retention schedule to comply with
and consider recent and existing laws and regulations, reflect industry best practices, update
cross referenced Borough Code sections, and to meet present needs of the Borough
departments; and
WHEREAS, on April 6, 2017, the Assembly adopted marijuana regulations per Ordinance
FY2017-28 and this necessitated the creation of Series FI -46 and updates to Series BC -43 and
FI -39; and
WHEREAS, the records administrator consulted with staff and the Borough Attorney to finalize
the proposed amendments to the Borough Clerk and Finance records series.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH that
Section 1: Exhibit "A" identifies revisions to the Borough Clerk - BC records series through
amended series BC -43.
Section 2: Exhibit "B" identifies revisions to the Finance - FI records series through amended
series FI -39 and added series FI -46 through FI -49.
