LT. MADDEN (USCG): The dredge Essayons will be supplied at Homer and meeting
with the F/V Topaz. It will leave us with two skimmers. .' Three,a
overflights --one by Exxon --to Chignik, Kamachak, and down the Shelikoff. Only'';
oil was in Kukat. Uyak Island has boats that are corralling it. Boom is at;t,,
Uganik Cannery. Veco says boats are heading out this evening for Halibut Bay;°
area. The Yocono is not going to sea for awhile. There will be one coming
down to assume command duties.

communication system they are going to set up? I talked with John Cameron and r
gave him dead spots that we have. "
MADDEN: We will get link to command vessels without satellite.
BOB BRODIE (CITY OF KODIAK MAYOR): How much more oil is coming out

MADDEN: They are still recovering oil at Nuka Bay and North Fork

physical cleanup with Exxon on Katmai beaches. We worked with developing plan, ?

resource concerns. Another item I have is one I heard in Valdez during„<!j
hearings --Exxon was questioned why not Katmai Coast and their word was we were
holding them up.

The number of claims has been turned over to Crawford in Valdez. They are 5t
checking the computer system. The payment schedule for Exxon contract holders�,�.
and vendors has the accounting people in Valdez looking at turn -around time: e`,
We have a fellow in to review whole contract issue primarily for purposes of..
consistency. The next two are dealing with greater local discretionaryr'
authority that will be established by new seniors coming here. Valdez'willy,
transfer $100,000 to KIB's account tomorrow and will send backup. rfl
BRODIE: Any schedule? Money was taken from the Borough funds to use.
DORNEY: I have told them. Stacey ? has given that number to me.
FREED: My finance officer got the impression that the entire $350,000 will
be coming in tomorrow. Do you have an update on replacement nets for local
fishermen?
DORNEY: They have made a purchase for some nets --generic nets.
BRODIE: Have they come up with some ideas an how they will handle

contaminated seines? Is there going to be a special tenderer or what? .. '•a

needs to be addressed.
