Assembly Special Meeting
August 25, 2016
A special meeting of the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly was held on August 25, 2016, in the
Borough Conference Room of the Kodiak Island Borough Building, 710 Mill Bay Road. The
meeting was called to order at 9:55 p.m.
Present were Mayor Jerrol Friend, Assembly members Kyle Crow, Larry LeDoux, Frank
Peterson Jr., Dan Rohrer, Rebecca Skinner, Scott Smiley, and Dennis Symmons. Also present
were Borough Manager Michael Powers and Deputy Clerk Angela MacKenzie.

None.
CONSIDERATION OF MATTERS IN THE CALL FOR THE SPECIAL MEETING
A. EXECUTIVE SESSION - KIB Land Purchase Offer Letter
ROHRER moved to convene into executive session to discuss a KIB land purchase offer letter
which qualified for executive session per KIBC 2.30.030(F.1.h) Land Acquisition or Disposal.
ROLL CALL VOTE ON MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY: Crow, LeDoux, Peterson, Rohrer,
Skinner, Smiley, and Symmons.
ROHRER moved to invite the Mayor, Assembly, and Clerk's Office Staff into executive session.
ROLL CALL VOTE ON MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY: LeDoux, Peterson, Rohrer,
Skinner, Smiley, Symmons, and Crow.
Mayor Friend recessed the special meeting and convened the executive session at 9:57 p.m.
Mayor Friend reconvened the special meeting at 10:04 p.m. and announced that direction was
given to the Manager to thank the offering entity but that the Borough declined the offer at this
time.
ADJOURNMENT
PETERSON moved to adjourn the meeting.
ROLL CALL VOTE ON MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY: Peterson, Rohrer, Skinner,
Smiley, Symmons, Crow, and LeDoux.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:05 p.m.
