A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
APPROVING FISCAL YEAR 2017 KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH NON-
PROFIT FUNDING
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is fortunate to enjoy the efforts of many
benevolent non-profit organizations that provide services that enrich our lives ; and
WHEREAS, Kodiak Area charitable non-profit organizations provide humanitarian
services that many of our community members rely upon; and
WHEREAS, these organizations provide expanded education, cultural, and health
services that cannot be provided through the ordinary governmental budget; and
WHEREAS, these organizations expand the services that can be provided, with limited
funds, through the utilization of volunteers; and
WHEREAS, these organizations all fit within the adopted powers of the Kodiak Island
Borough; and
WHEREAS, these organizations submitted applications requesting funds in the total
amount of $418,955; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly appropriated a total of $267,312 for
FY2017 as follows: $233,999 from the Non Profit Funding fund, $14,521 from the Tourism
Development Fund, and 18,792 from the Buildings & Grounds Fund, to the Non -Profits
listed; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH that the Kodiak Island Borough contributions to non profits will be allocated
per the attached spreadsheet.
