I trust I get a chance to meet with and work with you.
I am Jon Erickson,Ed D currently I live in Yakutat,Alaska as their City and Borough
Manager but I spent most of the last 10 years working in Alaska. I have just completed
my original contract at the City and Borough of Yakutat and was given a raise and a
three year continuous roll-over contract for as long as 1 want to stay here.I am
interested in Kodiak because it offers me a new and larger challenge,
I think of myself as a natural communicator with the ability to relate to all people.This
may be in part because I come from a family with pioneer roots in Alaska. I am not a
Johnny-Come-Lately to Alaska and I value my Alaska heritage.
I hold a masters and doctoral degree from Washington State University in education,
administration,research,and economics. Currently I am the City and Borough Yakutat
but I also have worked as a Planner 11 for the Governor's Commission on Aging and
other departments within the State of Alaska°
eI am a certified and trained administrator who has managed staffs of classified and
unclassified personnel.
,I have demonstrated skill in developing multiple projects simultaneously.
-As the City Manager of Yakutat,I overseer many departments that required multiple
skill sets. I am an expert in budgeting and planning
*I developed policies for state,legislative,federal,and private industry.
®I am an experienced educator who has taught at all levels of public education. At
Washington State University I taught graduate and undergraduate classes. As a school
administrator I supervised secondary and elementary educational programs.
*I have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and have developed and created
numerous pieces of public relations materials.

comprehensive and compelling destination. In Femdale, we relocated a major
farm store and redeveloped their previous Main Street site as well as worked to

businesses including success In siting a vegetable chilling facility on a formerly
active site and numerous commercial businesses.
I have extensive experience in infrastructure development including water,
sewer,streets and of public improvements. I have been responsible for over
$20M In capital projects while serving King City including a federally funded
bridge project,expansion of sewage treatment facilities and expansion of service
to a large undeveloped area. Further,we have worked an many other capital
improvements to Improve the quality of life including sidewalk projects to improve
pedestrian safety(Safe Routes to School), innovative pavement management to
stretch resources and been aggressive is seeking grant funding.
While talk of collaboration is fashionable, I have worked With a variety of
agencies, entities, private companies and the public on a number of projects
ranging from water and fishery issues to planning and development. I have lead
