Walton, Planning Directo FROM: Bill Hodgins, Zoning Office RE: Lot 1B, Block 1, Holland Acres Subdivision, First Addition On October 26, 1982 I visited the above referenced property and spoke with Mr. William Berkenbile regarding the attached R/V trailer to the rear of his shop structure. Kodiak Island Borough Building Permit #357 was issued to Mr. Berkenbile on November 25, 1981 for the construction of a garage on Lot 1B (copy attached). I informed Mr. Berkenbile of the need for him to come into the office to revise this permit to show the addition of this structure, as the trailer is not covered by this permit. Mr. Berkenbile understood this and stated he would take careof it. Also, during my visit I asked Mr. Berkenbile if a second R/V trailer located on this property was being used as a dwelling. Mr. Berkenbile stated that his in-laws are occupying this structure and planned an extended stay in Kodiak, approximately one year. I informed Mr. Berkenbile that the use of the R/V for permanent dwelling purposes is prohibited by adopted Borough and State Codes and the R/V would have to be vacated. Mr. Berkenbile understands this and said he would move his in-laws into the existing house on the property and vacate the R/V trailer.
