Alaska regulation 11 AAC 67.135(b) states: If, at the expiration of the second five -year lease term, the entryman has not qualified to receive title to the land upon which he has made entry, his lease will be terminated unless the Commissioner grants an extension of time for good cause. The Commissioner has delegated the authority to grant an extension to this division. The preparation and submission to the division of the first submittal of a plat has demonstrated a good faith effort by lessee to accomplish the required survey of the parcel. Based on that effort, I have elected to exercise my discretionary authority to extend the lease agreement for good cause. Please remit $100.00 to cover the annual lease rental payment of $50.00 and the extension fee of $50.00 by May 29, 1992. If we do not receive the monies necessary for this extension by May 29, 1992, we will have no alternative but to terminate your lease agreement. If this action is taken, any monies paid will be forfeited to and retained by the State.
