Re: Building Pad and Drainage, Lot 4, Ed's Subdivison (3450 Ed's Way)
During heavy rains last week, concern was expressed by the owner of Lots 23 and 24, Jackson
Subdivision (3447 and 3465 Eider Street) about the drainage impacts to his properties caused by
the residential building pad recently constructed (BZ 99-080) on adjacent Lot 4, Ed's Subdivison
(3450 Ed's Way). The concern expressed had to do with potential negative impacts to Lots 23
and 24 of erosion caused by alleged seepage and drainage from the building pad raised by fill to
a higher elevation. Concern was also expressed that the pad itself could eventually be
undermined.
Source of this seepage is unknown. The drainage entering Ed's Subdivison at the rear of Lot 7
has successfully been directed, as required by subdivision condition of approval #7 (Case S98-
004), within the drainage easement created along the lot line common to Lots 7 and 8 to the
ditchline of the cul-de-sac. Since the approved subdivision drainage plan is being followed, this
matter is referred to you because it may have implications for future structural development.
