Hi Ken,
So as you can see in the drawing the landing needs to be extended out to 60 inches to meet ADA requirements
for the swing of your door. As the landing already extends 24 inches to the left of the door nothing needs to
be added there. The fall is just under four inches so I drew in a ramp extending four feet which keeps us well
within the one inch per foot drop. Also and perhaps a little less clear on the drawing is D1 gravel compacted
against the side of the ramp sloping away at the same drop.

Hi Ken,
This is the estimate for the wheelchair accessability project. The proposal includes
extending the existing landing to meet or exceed the required turnaround radius -For a
wheelchair. From the extended landing installing a concrete ramp not to exceed 10 degrees.
Also, installing appropriate door hardware to comply with ADA standards.
The landing extension and ramp will be attached to the existing landing by #5 rebar dowels
drilled and epoxied into the existing landing and extending into the new pour by no less than
six inches and spaced no more than one foot centers. All concrete will have a minimum depth
of six inches of six sack, mesh reinforced concrete with a #5 rebar blanket on one foot
centers, which will be sufficient to protect the ramp from vehicle traffic. Edges will be
rounded over everywhere else will be broom finished. Building pad will be compacted D1
gravel.
The area surrounding the pour will have to be contained to protect it from either rain or
freezing. The air temperature in the containment must be kept at a minimum of 38 degrees for
two days following the pour to ensure proper curing.
All work will be inspected by the Kodiak Island Building Inspectors to ensure quality
control.
