11 BOROUGH RATIFYING AND CERTIFYING THE RESULTS OF THE

14 WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough held a Regular Election on October 1, 2013, at
15 which time candidates for the following offices were voted on:

60 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
61 BOROUGH THAT the Assembly finds that the Municipal Election of October 1, 2013, was
62 validly held and hereby ratifies and certifies the results of the election:

64 Section 1: In the Borough-wide election for Mayor, Jerrol Friend was elected to a three
65 year term.

67 Section 2: In the Borough-wide election for Assembly, Carol Austerman and Frank
68 Peterson, Jr. were elected to three year terms each.

70 Section 3: In the Borough-wide election for Borough School Board, Rick Kniaziowski
71 was elected to a three year term.

73 Section 4: In the Borough-wide election for Borough School Board, Todd Halley was
74 elected to a one year term.

76 Section 5: In the Fire Protection Area No. 1, Jim Pickett was elected to a three year
77 term.

79 Section 6: In the Service Area No. 1, Dennis Symmons and Natasha Hayden were
80 elected to three year terms each.

82 Section 7: In the Bay View Road Service Area, Jim Carmichael, a write-in candidate,
83 was elected to a three year seat. The second seat will be filled per KIBC
84 4.15.040 D & E.

87 were elected to three year terms each.

92 Section 10: In the Borough-wide election for Proposition No. 1, the proposition passed.

94 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE
95 KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH THAT the election was validly held and that the clerk is
96 directed to deliver to each person elected to office a certificate of election and the clerk is
97 directed to incorporate the changes in the Borough code with the passage of Proposition
98 No. 1.
