027 ARB E T We agree that if the NEC calculated service sizes for the
facility had to be provided by KEA, the transformers
would be significantly undersized. KEA will provide
transformers and feeders to match estimated demand
load. For instance the existing facilities were both served
by 2000A 208Y /120V equipment or equivalent of 1100
MVA of capactiy, but KEA is serving them with two 300
KVA transformers. The actual loading on the
transformers has been about 60% of the installed
capacity. From current estimated NEC loads, 208Y /120V
services would result too large to manage, so 480Y/277V
is recommended. With major equipment loads obtained
at the end of DD, well be able to assess the loading. A
full report will be prepared with possible
recommendations to reduce number of services. The
advantage of maintaining separate services allows for
continued service of existing electrical systems during
construction with short outages during non - school
sessions. We will continued to monitor the service sizes
and will take every opportunity to reduce equipment

that snow plows are less inclined to strike
