COMMITTEE MEMBER FOREMAN stated we've already had one public meeting to talk about the draft and
have been encouraging people to make comments. This 2 public meeting is to go through the comments,
make any recommendations for changes, and send it to Planning & Zoning.
COMMITTEE MEMBER SALTONSTALL arrived at 7:15 p.m.
During discussion there was consensus that staff run PSA's on the radio and run ads in the newspaper to
remind people that the comment deadline is September 15J. There was also consensus that the committee
needs clarification from Cassidy about what this meeting is going to look like at the next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
A) Timber Sale &
B) Chiniak Subdivision - Martin
Lydick stated the borough received this letter from A -1 Timber Consultants. He thinks the loggers heard
the Assembly speak about trying to fundraise for the new high school and saw an opportunity. The area
hasn't been surveyed yet and has a lot of potential but this is very preliminary.
