Approval of Minutes — September 14, 2010
Motion: - Conrad made a motion to approve minutes of September 14, 2010 as corrected,
George Lee was not in attendance last meeting. •

Old Business
Fire Department —
(a) Tanker 23 Repairs — Conrad -Oil cooler needs replaced, waiting
to schedule repairs: Anchorage FD can completely overhaul
Tanker 23 for 20 -40k -Dave Conrad will get more info
(b) Fire Fitting Purchase — Conrad - Quotes received- a demo valve
has been received. Company is willing to give us a discounted
price if the demo suits out needs.
(c) Firefighter grant for 60k with 5% local for PPE /AFG- Conrad -
Pending
(d) Wild -land Fire Grant- Was granted and expended, then
defended. Firehouse will pay what has already been expended.
(e) HUD grant for A &E /Shelter- $475K received - waiting on
estimate for shelter -See new business
Road Service —
(a) Nixon Ranch Survey — Burgey- Tucker is waiting on a call back
from Burgey
(b) Snow Markers — Arndt- we are going to use fence post to mark
the ends of major culverts - Waiting on work.
(c) Oct 09 Flood /FEMA Update— Conrad- 2 Jobs have been billed.
There were some issues identified with the accounting system.
15 of 18 jobs should be billed for in the next two weeks.
Contractors should be here in November to engineer the repairs
that will start in May.
(d) Outstanding work orders -
a. Kalsin Dr Drainage /Drabek
b. Noch Dr- Ditching & topping
c. Otter Dr- topping
d. Womens Bay Dr- topping
(e) New culvert needed on Bells Flats Rd -need KEA to locate the
lines to see if a culvert can be put in -on work ordered yet, project
on hold until spring
(f) Brush Pile disposition — Brush Burned, asked the borough to
lease the property to us so we can have ownership of the
property. It would be useful to us to stage equipment for
contractor. We need to send a request to the borough -we could
lease a portion for the Fire & Road Service Board. We would
have to have the plot surveyed.
New Business —
Fire Department —
a) The Fire Dept would like to purchase new coats for the volunteer
firemen.
Lee made a motion to expend up to $3k on the coats.

b) We need to draft a letter stating what the impacts would be in the
log storage lot had a fire. Conrad will take the lead on this.
c) Hose tester purchased
d) We should place a thank you ad in the news paper to Tundra & Ed
for material to install dry hydrant
Road Service Area —
a) Focus meeting for the emergency shelter- We will have a
community meeting on Oct 26 at 7pm to discuss the emergency
shelter with the community.
b) There will be a temporary detour through Panamaroff Cr Dr
while the hwy is repaired. The borough has stated that the
contractor will install a gate/chain across Panamaroff Cr Dr at
the end of the improved road. The key to this gate will reside
with the Fire Dept.
c) Letter needs to be generated to the borough facilities to
determine what cost the taxpayers should be burdened with due
to the damage to the road from over sized log trucks on tract E
of Tract A (Sergeant Cr and Rezanof Dr)- Henderson drafting
Board Member Comments: -
Lee- Reminder that we need to be proactive with the log storage lot.
Rice- Reiterated that shelter meeting. A shelter manager also needs to be identified.
Henderson made a motion to adjourn regular meeting at 9:05 pm.
The regular meeting was adjourned.
