1987-67 Establishing Amount Due to/from the City of Kodiak for Taxes on Personal Property Within the City Limits.A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY ESTABLISHING AMOUNT DUE. TO /FROM THE CITY OF KODIAK FOR TAXES ON PERSONAL PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS. WHEREAS, Section 29.53.020 Alaska Statutes provides that a home rule City shall have the same power to grant exceptions or exclude property from Borough taxes that it has as to City taxes, provided, that the exemptions or exclusions have been adopted as to City taxes and further provided that the City appropriate to the Borough sufficient monies to equal revenues lost by the Borough because of the exemptions or exclusions, the amount to be determined annually by the Borough Assembly without weighted voting; and WHEREAS, the records and files of the Kodiak Island Borough indicate that the following are the totals for valuation and tax for Personal Property inside the City of Kodiak for which the Kodiak Island Borough should receive payment in lieu of taxes: ROLL Original $22,198,473 $100,114.16 $3,315 315 $103,429.16 Supplemental 8,307,112 37,464.67 , 41,649.67 TOTALS $30,505,585 $137,578.83 $7,500 $145,078.83 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly, that it be and it is hereby determined that the total value of Personal Property in the City subject to taxation as above stated is $30,505,585 and the amount due to the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH is lieu of collections of Personal Property tax on said property is $137,578.83 plus Boat tax of $7,500 for a total of 5145,078.83. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough has (or will) 'I collect the following taxes for the City: Original Roll $440,977.51 Supplemental Roll 5441,428.99 Amount to be remitted is $441,428.99.
