1987-54 Urging the Legislature to Increase Drug and Alcohol Abuse Enforcement, Prevention, and Treatment.A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY URGING THE LEGISLATURE TO INCREASE DRUG AND ALCOHOL ABUSE ENFORCEMENT, PREVENTION AND TREATMENT. WHEREAS. alcohol and drug abuse are causing the biggest social problems In the United States and especially in Alaska, costing 860 billion per year in terms of lost productivity end other cost, and WHEREAS, the adults and youth of the Kodiak Island Borough have dscldsd it is time to •say no• to drugs. NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that Governor Steve Cowper and the Alaska Legislators ar• urged to adopt legislation which will accomplish the following: ATTEST: 1.
