RESOLUTION NO. 87 -48 -R
KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY CALLING
FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION ON OCTOBER 6, 1987, FOR THE PURPOSE
OF ELECTING A SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER FOR A TWO -YEAR UNEXPIRED TERM
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough School Board accepted the
resignation of July Fulp at its regular meeting of August 24, 1987; and
WHEREAS, there is now a vacancy on the board for an unexpired
two year term; and
WHEREAS, Alaska Statues provide for a successor to be
i appointed within 30 days to serve until the next regular election; and
WHEREAS, the next regular election is October 6, 1987,
however, the nominating period for that election has already past;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly that a Special Election be held on October 6, 1987, in
conjunction with the Regular Election for the purpose of electing a
School Board Member to a two -year unexpired term.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there will be a special nominating
(period from August 28 through September 4, 1987 for this seat.
Nominations will be made in accordance with KIB 2.01.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1987.
